<p>NEW MATERIAL:The amide derivative of formula I [X and Y are S or C or X is S and Y is N; Z is CN or thioamide; R<1> and R<2> are H, halogen, lower alkyl, lower haloalkyl or phenyl; R<3> is H, lower alkyl, alkenyl, haloalkenyl, furyl, thienyl, (halogen-containing) phenyl, OR<4>, SR<4> or pyrazolyl; R<4> is alkyl or alkynyl]. EXAMPLE:N-(alpha-cyanofurfuryl)-2-chloro-4-methylthiazole-5-carboxylic acid amide. USE:An agricultural end horticultural fungicide having excellent controlling effect against wide variety of plant blights at a low concentration and rate of application and exhibiting excellent preventive and remedying effect especially against late blight, downy mildew, etc. PREPARATION:The objective compound of formula IV (R<3> is same as those defined above except for OR<4>, SR<4> and pyrazolyl) is produced by reacting a compound of formula II or its reactive derivative with a compound of formula III (R<3> is same as those defined in the formula IV) or its salt.</p> |
