<p>A hanger for self-supporting overhead cables is suitable for inflexible or reinforced cables. It is constructed from a small number of components. Erection is facilitated since personnel can concentrate on handling the cable while not having to carry out difficult assembly operations on the suspension. The hanger has a V-shaped section and is open at the top; its side walls (8,9) have high-friction surfaces and are joined by a base link (10) to form a single unit forming a pocket (6) into which the cable can be dropped; additional lining pieces (11,12) may be loosely inserted in the pocket (6) and they may be retained by out-turned flanges at each end.</p> |
