Toothed component

The toothed component, for the mechanical transmission of a force, has a base body of fibre ceramics. The fibre skeleton is of continuous carbon fibres, with a polymer matrix containing carbon. The fibres are coated with silicon carbide through the effect of infiltration of the matrix with a liquid silicon, and the reaction between the silicon and the carbon content of the matrix. The teeth are of a fibre ceramics material, where the fibres are oriented according to the mechanical loading or they are of a monolithic ceramic structure.
