Disclosed are a hydraulic braking device (1) of a vehicle, consisting of a power brake (6) and an anti-locking device (12) fitted with a hydraulic pump (19, 20), as well as its operating mode. The invention permits a power brake failure to be detected, in which case the pump (19, 20) is actuated to generate a braking force, thereby ensuring reliable braking action in any circumstances.
