Process for the conversion of lighter alkanes to higher hydrocarbons

A process is claimed for the conversion of a mixture of light hydrocarbons, gaseous in normal conditions of temperature and pressure, containing methane, into higher hydrocarbons, liquid in normal conditions. The process comprises firstly an adsorption phase on a supported metallic catalyst followed by a desorption phase of the adsorbed species. The latter phase is effected at 300 degrees C or more, and at least one of the phases is carried out at 5 x 10<5> Pa or more.
