The spray guard comprises a shield (10) extending around part of the roller circumference and pivotably joined to the opposite end of the paint roller shaft (4) to the handle (6). The centre of the gravity for the spray guard is located at a distance from this pivot axis and in a position where the guard is maintained in a given position relative to the vertical when the pivot joint end of the shaft lies horizontal. This centre of gravity is obtained by a weight (19) that can be moved along a guide (18) between two end positions where the guard will be kept in a fixed position relative to the vertical, irrespective of shaft rotation about the handle when the pivot end of the shaft lies horizontal. |
