Solution for the storage of organs

A solution for preservation of organs, especially kidneys, comprises a high sulphate content (preferably ≥ 80 mM) and a low chloride content (preferably < 20 mM). The solution may also contain 10 wt. % polyethylene glycol (PEG) of mol. wt. approximately 4600, as well as a phosphate buffer.
