<p>PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new derivative, comprising an unsaturated bile acid derivative having a specified molecular structure and having cholagogic, anticholestatic and antilithic actions without changing the secretion of cholesterol or a phospholipid. CONSTITUTION: This new unsaturated bile acid derivative (e.g. 3α,7β- ditetrahydropyranyloxy-5β-cholan-24-oic acid) is represented by formula I (R is H or hydroxy; X is carboxy or SO3 H), has cholagogic, anticholestatic and antilithic actions and useful as a cholagogue, an anticholestatic and an antilithic agents, etc. The compound is obtained by reacting a compound represented by formula II (R' is H or protected hydroxy; R3 and R4 are each a hydroxy- protecting group) with a phosphorus ylide compound represented formula III (R5 is an alkyl or phenyl).</p> |
