PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new fluorine-containing compound soluble to a hydrocarbon-based solvent and excellent in lubricating characteristics. SOLUTION: This compound containing fluorine is a compound having a fluoroalkyl, an alkyl or an alkenyl and a polar group, and satisfying 4< number of C having C-F bond/number of C having C-H bond <=8.5, especially a compound expressed by formula I (Rf is a fluoroalkyl; R is an alkyl or an alkyenyl; X, Y are each O or non-existence, Z is a polar group; (k), (m), (n) are each 0-30). The compound of formula I is obtained e.g. in the case of a compound expressed by formula II, by reacting [(CF3 )(CF2 )7 ]2 CF(CF2 )11 I with H2 C(COOC2 H5 )COOH, dissolving the obtained product in diglyme, adding NaBH and LiBr, and reacting Ts-OCH2 CH=CHCH3 to the obtained compound. This compound is useful as a component of a lubricating agent for a magnetic recording medium. |
