PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to prevent generation of a reactive force by freely deforming and suppressing permanent strain of a heat insulating cylinder even in generating excess deflection in a catalyst cylinder and bringing the catalyst cylinder into contact with inside cylinder of the heat insulating cylinder, by dividing the inner cylinder of the heat insulating cylinder into plural cylindrical parts and connecting between the cylindrical parts with connecting bars. SOLUTION: This modifier for an electric generator of a fuel cell is obtained by placing a burner 1 on a concentric circle and providing at least a catalyst cylinder 3 and a heat insulating cylinder 4 having a shape of a double cylinder and inserting a heat insulating material 7 inside thereof. Crude fuel gas of hydrocarbon system such as a natural gas or naphtha is introduced into the catalyst cylinder 3 and is converted to a modified gas rich in hydrogen with a modifying catalyst while heated by a combustion gas in a combustion cylinder 2. An inner cylinder 4B of the heat insulating cylinder 4 including the heat insulating material 7 is divided into plural cylindrical parts and the cylindrical parts are connected by connecting bars 5. When the inner cylinder of the heat insulating cylinder 4B is divided into plural cylindrical parts, a deflected amount of individual cylindrical part generated by the deflection of the catalyst cylinder 3 is reduced correspondingly to the dividing number. |
