<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the probability that an average golfer strikes a ball at the center of the face of a wood type golf club head and to increase the carry when the ball is hit at the center of the head. SOLUTION: The club head is set in the height H1 of the centroid G of the head from the sole at a value smaller by 5mm than the half of the thickness T of the head. The height size H2 from the sole 2 at the center C of the face surface is set at 30 to 40mm. The centroid G of the head is so set that the intersected point P of the perpendicular A from the centroid G of the head to the face surface 1 exists at the same height as the height at the center C of the face surface or below this height.</p> |
