<p>A semi-rigid film of poly- epsilon -caprolactone with Mw of at least 75000, has modulus of traction of at least 600 MPa in longitudinal and transverse directions, and not more than 1% shrinkage in the two directions at below the melting zone of the poly- epsilon -caprolactone. Preferably the poly- epsilon -caprolactone has Mw of 90000-200000, is a homopolymer and is prepared using an aluminium trialkoxide as initiator. The modulus of traction of the film is not above 2000 Mpa and the shrinkage is not above 0.5% in the two directions at below the fusion zone of the polymer. The product of the modulus of traction in the transverse direction, as MPa, and the elongation at break, as %, is above 300000 MPa. The polymer contains up to 150 wt.% of filler.</p> |
