PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bathtub allowing easy manufacture and having high strength by eliminating a rib from the back of a bathtub body made of FRP (glass fiber reinforced plastic), and forming a stack of a foamed urethane layer of high density on the back of the bathtub body for the reinforcement thereof. SOLUTION: A bathtub has a bathtub body 1 of FRP(glass fiber reinforced plastic) and a foamed urethane layer 2 of high density stacked on the back 1a thereof. The bathtub body 1 is formed out of a tub part 3 with an upper side open and a peripheral part 4. The wall thickness of the bathtub body 1 is set at a value, for example, approximately between 2.5mm and 6mm, and the bottom wall of the tub part 3 is preferably taken at thickness slightly larger than thickness of other areas. On the other hand, the thickness of the foamed urethane layer 2 of high density is set at a value, for example, approximately between 12mm and 30mm. The expansion ratio of the layer 2 is set at a value, for example, between 7 and 10 times. In this case, the expansion ratio of the layer 2 of high density is make irregular along a thicknesswise direction for making a bottom side dense. As a result, a material can be reduced, compared with the conventional case, by an amount corresponding to a removed rib, and high quality product can be easily manufactured. |
