PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent formation of a defective image by flying ink droplets of different size using a piezoelectric element. SOLUTION: In the ink jet recorder, a bias voltage is applied from a bias voltage applying circuit 100 between a nozzle plate 303 and a bias platen 9 facing the nozzle plate 303 through a recording sheet 2 when an ink droplet of large size is flown. Consequently, the bias platen 9 attracts the ink droplet from a nozzle 309 electrostatically to assist flight of the ink droplet. |
