PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid carelessly contaminating a desk or sheet surface by eliminating trouble of capping and decapping. SOLUTION: The writing instrument comprises a writing utensil 13 movably contained in a barrel 12, a slide 15 sliding in the barrel 12, and a weight 16 operating to erect an end side of the barrel 12 upward. In the state that the end side of the barrel 12 is erected upward, an engaging step 16a for eliminating a protruding state of a writing part 13a is provided. Accordingly, when the instrument 11 is placed on a horizontal surface such as a desk, it is erected in the state that the end side of the barrel 12 is directed upward by an operation of the weight 16. The slide 15 slides in the barrel to a tail end side by its own weight to eliminate the engagement of protruding the writing utensil 13. Therefore, the utensil 13 is contained in the barrel. Thus, a problem of contaminating the sheet surface carelessly can be eliminated by the writing part. |
