<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conveniently sort >=3 kinds of metals regardless of the size, shape, surface state (dust, rust), etc. SOLUTION: Plural kinds of metallic pieces 1 consisting respectively of a single metal are successively irradiated with X-rays, the fluorescent X-ray spectra radiated from the metallic pieces are analyzed, and the metals are sorted from the spectra. Meanwhile, the metal sorter using this method is composed of a conveyor 12, a position detector 14, a metal identifier 16 and a metal sorting and discharging device 18. The sorting and discharging device 18 is provided with plural dischargers 19, and the metallic pieces 1 are sorted by a controller 20 and discharged.</p> |
