PRODUCTION OF POROUS CERAMIC MATERIAL FORMING CURVED SURFACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a porous ceramic material constituting a curved surface by a simple baking treatment without necessitating polishing work by using a porous clay having pore density and/or pore size varying in the direction of thickness. SOLUTION: A porous material composed mainly of a clay mineral and having a thickness of 1-10μm, a pore density of 1-25cc/g and a pore diameter of about 0.1-10μm is produced by laminating plural porous clay layers having different pore density and/or pore diameter or forming a porous clay material having gradient of pore density and/or pore diameter in the direction of thickness. The produced porous material is baked at 600-1200 deg.C for >=30min to obtain the objective porous ceramic material constituting a curved face having the concave face composed of the face having large pore diameter or the face having high pore density. The form of the curved face after the baking of the porous laminate or the formed porous material can be controlled by adjusting the gradient of the pore density and/or the pore diameter of the porous material.
