<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new protein derivative composed of a hedgehog protein having a specific amino acid sequence and participating in the morphogenesis, nerve differentiation, cell canceration, etc., and useful for the detection, diagnosis, etc., of cancers such as pulmonary cancer by the antibody. SOLUTION: This protein is a new hedgehog protein having an amino acid sequence expressed by the formula, participating in the morphogenesis, nerve differentiation, cell canceration, etc., and useful as an immunogen for the preparation of an antibody for the analysis of the function and action mechanism of a protein expressed from hedgehog and the detection, diagnosis, etc., of cancers such as pulmonary cancer. This protein can be produced by amplifying a hedgehog protein gene of lung cDNA of a rat fetus of 16 days of fetal life by PCR method using a synthetic primer composed of a part of a gene coding for hedgehog protein, integrating the amplified gene into a plasmid to prepare a recombinant vector, transforming a host cell with the recombinant vector and culturing the obtained transformant.</p> |
