PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording apparatus enabling a stable recovery operation even when an ink adheres to a cap and forms ink bubbles between a nozzle face and the cap. SOLUTION: The ink-jet recording apparatus has an ink-jet head 2 for discharging ink, a cap 21 for covering a nozzle of the ink-jet head, and a cap- moving device for butting and separating the cap to the ink-jet head. In this case, a distance (h) between a top point of a bubble 17 of a remaining ink generated on the cap and a discharge opening through which an ink 16 is discharged is shifted by not smaller than 0.2mm when the cap 21 is separated after butted to the ink-jet head 2 so as to prevent the top point of the bubble 17 of the ink in the cap from touching the discharge opening when the ink-jet head is covered with the cap again. |
