PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a punching device which includes a punching unit equipped with irregular punches having directivity such as in triangular, quadrangular, or elliptical shape and which can bore an irregularly shaped hole accurately in the desired direction and position even in case the mounting of the punching unit on a machine table involves a certain error or precision is not assured in the handing-over of each work to the moving part. SOLUTION: A part 1 to clamp a work W is arranged movable in the X- and Y-directions and inθ-direction, and a test work is moved to the punching part 2 on the basis of the data set previously and subjected to a trial punching bit by bit, and the test work is moved to right under the photographing part 3 to perform an image processing, whereby the center coordinates (center position) of the bored irregular hole and its dislocation amount (directionality) in theθ-direction are measured, followed by calculation of the corrective data, which is added to the predetermined data, and thereupon the punching process is executed while the moving part 1 clamping a work to be actually processed W is moved in the desired direction and to the desired position.
