TIPPING PAPER, REDUCTION IN WEAR OF CUTTING TOOL FOR CUTTING TIPPING PAPER, IMPROVEMENT IN OPACITY OF TIPPING PAPER, AND SMOKING PRODUCT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain tipping apper suitable for being wound on the filter of a smoking product, to provide a method for reducing the wear of a cutting tool for cutting the tipping paper, to provide a method for improving the opacity of the tipping paper, and to obtain a smoking product using the tipping paper. SOLUTION: This tipping paper contains a pigment produced from calcium carbonate particles having a central particle diameter of about 0.1-0.5μm. The calcium carbonate pigment can be used for producing the tipping paper having an opacity of at least 98%. The employment of the tipping paper reduces the wear of the blade of a cutting tool used for cutting the paper. The tipping paper is less is solvent retainability than that of conventional tipping paper, when printed with a solvent-based ink or coated with a solvent-based coating agent.
