PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a plate-like catalyst by which it is possible to prevent cracks which become a cause for strength deterioration from being generated and obtain a thin and high strength catalyst, even if only one reticular inorganic fiber base material is used. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing a plate-like catalyst for exhaust gas purification is to feed a reticular inorganic fiber base material 5 staked on an auxiliary coating paper 4, toward a gaps between a pair of upper/lower coating rollers 1, 2 which rotate in a mutually opposite direction, along a coating table 3 provided forward of the coating rollers 1, 2. Further, the method is to supply a catalytic paste 6 on the reticular inorganic fiber base material 5 and roll the catalytic paste or spread over the base material 5 during the feeding of the reticular inorganic fiber base material 5. In this case, the rolling uptake level of the catalytic paste on the upper surface of the base material 5 is increased by making the rotary peripheral speed of the outer circumference of the upper coating roller 1 higher than that of the lower coating roller 2. |
