An anisotropic endless printing element comprises a seamless outer printing surface layer, and a spirally-integrally reinforced compressible tubular structure located beneath the outer layer. The tubular structure comprises a sheet being spirally wrapped by at least two complete turns circumferentially around the longitudinal axis of the structure. It further comprises an elastomer with voids disposed between the inner and outer tubular surfaces defined by the wrapped sheet part. A nonwoven layer in the structure is formed of polyester, polyolefin, aromatic polyamide, polyvinyl chloride, rayon, polyvinyl chloride copolymer, vinylidene chloride, an aramid, graphite, glass or a metal. The spunbonded nonwoven layer comprises polyester fibers and an amide coating on the polyester fibers. |
