This specification describes a key brace 1, which acts as an aid for the key 7 when unlocking and opening doors. The key brace 1, the function of which is to facilitate unlocking with a key 7 and opening of the door, if the lock or the door is stiff to open, and where the user of the key may require auxiliary force and a good grip on the key 7, for example rheumatics, children and the elderly. The key brace 1 is equipped with a key-ring 2 and a key-shaped cavity 4, into which a selected key 7 from the key-ring 2 can be inserted through the flexible cleft 8, so that other keys that may possibly be on the key-ring remain there. The key 7 is firmly locked in place in the cavity 4 by means of the cleft 8 and the guide part 6 and can be withdrawn from the key brace 1 if it is wished to attach another key from the key-ring 2 to the key brace 1. When the key 7 is in the cavity the key ring 2 is held at right angles to the key brace 1, thereby obtaining a firm grip thereon together with the key brace 1. The firm grip makes it easier to turn the key and open the door because less force is required to do this. <IMAGE>
