The invention concerns a method for granulation of ash obtained from a power plant and other installations that burn solid fuels for utilization. In this method water in an amount of 20 to 60% of the weight of the ash is added to the hot ash that has been fed by usual conveyor methods to a granulating drying tower in such a way that the temperature of the ash-water mass is 50-100 degrees Celsius and the mixture is granulated in the drum dryer at a temperature of 50-100 degrees Celsius until hard granules are produced.
