Storage heater with phase changing medium

Engine cooling water or engine exhaust gases can be used for a vehicle storage heater, in which the heat is stored by a phrase changing substance, such as a salt. The hot gas or water is circulated through stages, each with horizontal passages (4), and the heat storage substance is retained inside larger vertical ducts (7), forming stages alternating with the first stages. The hot gas or water enters chambers each end of the horizontal passages to form a circulating system. The stages are formed by flat plates with corrugated sheets attached, forming the passages and ducts. A number of stages can be assembled in a unit, with end extensions forming the chambers and a welded construction.
