The invention relates to a device for the sterilization of drinking water, which can be used wherever the purification and sterilization of water are required. Said invention specifically comprises the following: a receptacle for the sterilization of drinking water including a casing (1), the lower portion of which bears a disposable bottom (2). The casing further has a cover (3) with a connecting pipe (4) and canals (5) traversing the circular protrusions of the cover (6). A water feed device (7) lies below a bactericidal material (8), which is disposed between two screens (9a, 9b) and layers of a fiber carbon material (10a, 10b). A layer of fiber carbon material (10c) is disposed underneath the lower screen (9b); said material is used to filter particulate contaminants and is held by the shoulder of a divider (11) disposed in the water feed device. A layer of a cation-exchange material (10d) is disposed above the upper screen (9a). A special device is used for feeding the water into the receptacle, drawing it through the bactericidal material from the bottom upwards, so as to increase the effectiveness of its contact with the bactericidal material. Furthermore, prior to the sterilization process, the fiber carbon material filters the water of its particulate impurities, which are then retained in the disposable bottom of the receptacle.
