The user terminal (14) includes a receiver (13) for receiving a message which is sent to several user terminals. A message decoder (17) is provided which is coupled to the receiver and which decodes the message and a session control command (62) which includes an identification number which is relevant for the user terminal. A session manager (11) is coupled to the message decoder and carries out a session control event in response to the session control command. Preferably, the decoder identifies a host-computer to which a message is sent and combines the identification number with the host computer.
