Disclosed is a device (10) for producing cross-finned pipes having molding cheek halves (12), which lie adjacent to each other along a common molding segment, have front faces (14, 16) and form a molding channel (18). Each molding cheek half (12) is connected to a supporting member (34) on one surface (32). The supporting members (34) are guided along a first linear guiding device (50). Each molding cheek half (12) is fixed to a guiding and sliding element (56) on a second surface (54). The guiding and sliding elements (56) are guided along a second linear guiding device (66). Both the supporting members (34) and the guiding and sliding elements (56) consist of the same material. The molding cheek halves (12) consist of a material of a relatively small specific weight, having a thermal expansion coefficient ( alpha B), which is high in comparison with the thermal expansion coefficient ( alpha A) of the material for the supporting members (34) and the guiding and sliding elements (56). Nonetheless, in order to ensure a tight contact of the molding cheek halves (12), they exhibit a longitudinal extent (B) in the direction of the molding segment, which at the operational temperature (T) of the molding cheek halves (12) is as great as that of the supporting members (34) and that of the guiding and sliding elements (56).
