Complex gallium or aluminium phosphate, giving orthorhombic crystal with cage structure

Complex phosphate-based salts of formula A<+>B<3+>(H2PO4<->)2(HPO4<2->).H2O (I) are new; in which A<+> = a monovalent cation selected from sodium (Na), lithium (Li), potassium (K), rubidium (Rb), caesium (Cs), ammonium (NH4), silver (Ag) or copper (Cu), which may be partly exchanged with other cation(s) of this group; B<3+> = gallium (Ga) or aluminium (Al), optionally partly exchanged with a trivalent cation of the transition metal(s) iron (Fe), chromium (Cr), titanium (Ti), manganese (Mn), cobalt (Co), nickel (Ni) or vanadium (V) and optionally a divalent and a tetravalent cation of transition metal(s); or B<3+> = Ga or Al partly exchanged with trivalent cations of rare earth(s). (I) has an orthorhombic crystal structure in the Pbcn space group.
