The rear seat folding mechanism (21) consists of two supports (23,24) pivoted round seat-fixed (26) axes (25,26) at right angles to the vehicle length so as to hold the seat (16) in use at a fixed level over the floor (12). Both front supports (23) can swivel at their non-seat ends round a transverse axis (28) fixed below the floor. The two rear supports (24) fit releasably into a bearing (27) let into the vehicle floor. This swivel axis (28) is arranged on a level with the floor pan (221) and the pan opening is closed off by a load-resistant floor plate (29) flush with the floor.
