The invention concerns a non-toxic, biologically compatible collagenic material, biodegradable in less than a month, preferably in less than a week, comprising collagen and at least a macromolecular hydrophilic additive, chemically non-reactive with collagen, said collagen having at least lost its helicoid structure and being cross-linked. The invention also concerns a method for obtaining such a material. The collagenic material is particularly useful for the prevention of post-operative adhesions.
