PURPOSE:To execute the switching operation at the low loss and efficiently by providing a first branching path formed by connecting each of one branch end of a first and a second branch parts, and a second branching path formed by connecting each of the other branch end of a first and a second branch parts. CONSTITUTION:By the first branching path 13A constituted of a stripe-like optical guide part, each of one branch end of the first and the second Y branching parts 12A, 12B is connected. In a part of this first branching path 13A, an optical non-linear part 14 having a superlattice structure part 14a of GaAs/ Al0.3Ga0.7As is formed. Also, by the second branching path 13B constituted of a stripe-like optical guide part, each of the other branch end of the first and a second Y branch parts 12A, 12B is connected. In such a manner, the switching operation can be executed at the low loss and efficiently. |
