The lock has a locking element (37) which is displaced by a motor between a locked and an open position, and which pulls a counter closure part from a captured position into a locking position. A rotational connection is provided with an interposed free motion coupling (K) of the lock element and a rotational drive motor (4), whereby a retaining device which holds the lock element in the locked position can be controlled in advance according to a free motion of the lock element. The lock element has a rotating trap (8), and the retaining device is a locking pawl.
