The device has a spherical gudgeon with ball socket (8) and diaphragm seal. The side (11) of the ball socket sealed by the seal has an additional lip seal ring (15) located in a circumferential aperture (17). The sealing lip (16) of the ring engages sealing on the spherical slide face of the gudgeon pin. The edge of the ball socket has a flange (18) along the aperture to hold the ring.
