When it is in the normal position, the boot (28) is clamped in the touring frame on the ski or on the plate, between the front sole holder (29) and the heel holder (25), by a pressure spring. In this position, the tip (37) of the boot projects over a pivot axis (8) in direction of the tip of the ski. The sole support slide (12) is movable along a compensation distance, which corresponds to at least the projection of the tip of the boot relative to the pivot axis. The pressure spring is a soft spring with large spring travel. It has low force increase across the spring travel, and therefore serves as a length compensation spring for the additional compensation distance.
