The gear box incorporates a gearshift fork support unit. This has a stationary shaft positioned parallel to the rotary shafts (4) and support by the gear box housing (1). A first support (21a,c) is fastened to the stationary shaft for pivoted support of the mainly U-shaped gearshift fork (9A,C) on one of its arms (9a). A second support is aligned with the first one and also fastened to the shaft, and is for pivoted support of the fork on its other arm (9b). The stationary shaft is a reverse shaft resp. intermediate timing gear shaft (8), secured on the gear box housing.
