A movable member (18) of an actuator (10) has a movable block (50) provided with an opening (48) through which a feed screw shaft (16) can be inserted in the direction which crosses the axis thereof at right angles. A control apparatus (400) for the actuator controls a flow rate of a current to a rotational drive source (21), on the basis of a manipulated variable control signal outputted through a torque limiter (8), whereby the torque of the rotational drive source (21) detected by a torque conversion means (10) is controlled to a level of a signal of a torque limiting value.
