<p>The present invention pertains to a device for transmitting and processing group communications in the E-Mail system and can be used for processing and making catalogues of multi-addressee communications. It offers a more efficient processing of multi-addressee communications due to the fact that the communication structure is optimized with a view to reducing losses of transmitted information and simplifying their processing. The outgoing multi-addressee communication is so processed that secondary communications for each addressee are selected therefrom, each of them containing an identical information field as well as a distinctive service field for the secondary communication descriptor. An outgoing communication catalogue is made at at least two levels, in which the first-level entry line relates to the outgoing communication and contains the following attributes: an addressee-based address list Adr _ 1, ...Adr _ 2, ...Adr _ N, from the first one to the -th one; the COMM _ ID field for the only descriptor related to the communication concerned; the STATUS field, indicating the state of the outgoing communication. Each entry line for the following level is related to the secondary communication and contains the following attributes: Adr _ i as the address of the 'i' addressee, the COMM _ ID _ i field for the descriptor intended for the secondary communication sent to the 'i' addressee and the STATUS _ i, describing the state of the secondary communication to the 'i' addressee. Upon reception of the transmitted secondary communications, the addressees send a confirmation message in the form of a status communication, which provides, among other data, information about the descriptor intended for the secondary communication received and data related to its current status. Upon reception of the status communication by the sender, a search is made in the outgoing communication catalogue under the sign corresponding to the descriptor intended for the secondary communication COMM _ ID _ i, and once the secondary communication is detected, data on the current status of said secondary communication are inferred from the transmitted status communication STATUS _ i, such data being entered into the STATUS _ i field of the entry line for the secondary communication of the relevant level.</p> |
