Piston pump, esp. high pressure fuel injection pump for IC engine

The pump has a housing with piston and working chamber, and a crank element supporting a lifting ring (18). The piston has a slide surface (16), supported on a slide bearing surface (17) on the ring, and a relief chamber (22) formed by an aperture in the area of the two surfaces, is connected to the working chamber. The chamber is open towards the slide bearing surface on the ring. The piston (12) is pressed by a spring (21) in direction towards the ring. Crank element (19), lifting ring, and the piston sections projecting from the piston guide, are located in a low pressure area in the housing, which serves as feed chamber for fuel, pref. pertrol.
