The brush head has vertically projecting tufts of bristles. Tufts at the end of the head form a rounded bristle tuft around a central bristle tuft. A central tuft (4) projects vertically from the rounded bristle tuft (1). When seen in the longitudinal direction, the outer rows of a second bristle tuft group (2) consist of tufts (5) of the same height as the central tuft. The bristle tufts (6) between the outer rows are slightly shorter than those of the outer tufts (7) of the rounded tuft. The central tuft and the tufts of the outer rows have soft action. The tufts between the outer rows have hard action, and the outer tufts have medium action.
