<p>A detachable medical instrument includes an actuator (400), and a distal assembly (402, 404). A distal coupler (408, 410) of the actuator (400), and a proximal coupler (412) of the distal assembly (402, 404) are detachably engage. The couplers (408, 410, 412) are configured to be non-fixedly engaged together when one of the couplers (254, 254a) is in a first orientation. The couplers (408, 410, 412) are configured to be fixedly engaged together when one of the couplers (408, 410, 412) is moved from its first orientation to a second orientation. A method of assembling a medical instrument includes positioning the distal coupler (408, 410) in a first orientation with respect to the proximal coupler (412) such that the couplers are non-fixedly engaged together; and moving one of the couplers relative to the other to a second orientation to fixedly engage the actuator to the distal assembly (402, 404).</p> |
