<p>To fold and lay a side airbag, for vehicle occupant restraint on an impact collision, the airbag (10) is spread on an underlay (12), and the edges of the inflation opening (30) are fixed. A plate (14) is positioned at a gap (a) from the underlay, with the airbag (10) between them, and the airbag (10) is inflated. The airbag (10) walls are pushed inwards, to lay them partially in the interior of the airbag (10). It uses an apparatus with a system (34) to inflate the inserted airbag (10) while fixed (28) in place. Slides (16,18,20,22) are moved inwards to press the airbag walls into the interior of the inflated airbag, contained in the gap (a) between the plates (12,14).</p> |
