Control device for a burner

The controller and regulator (1) is used in a burner (2) in which combustion air is conveyed to the combustion chamber via an air blower (4). An air pressure monitor (7) monitors the conveyed air stream volume. The blower is driven in at least two load stages, and rotates in each stage with an automatically determined rotation rate. When the burner is set into operation, the blower rotates in a predetermined load stage (LS), where the rotation rate of the stage LS corresponds either to a predetermined fixed value or a value determined during the previous operation. The air pressure monitor indicates whether the conveyed air stream volume is sufficient or not. If not, the rotation rate of the blower is increased until the monitor indicates that the conveyed air volume is sufficient. The rotation rates of the remaining load stages are calculated from the value of the rotation rate of the first stage (LS).
