<p>A laundry drier and ironer consists of a rotary cylinder (10) made from stainless steel in one piece with no welds. The ratio of the cylinder's wall thickness to its diameter is between 1 : 180 and 1 : 280, and it rests on convex rollers (12) of a non-metallic material, e.g. a composition material containing glass fibres in a resin matrix, mounted on fixed axles (24) by means of ball bearings (26). The cylinder is made, for example, with an outer diameter of 325 mm and a thickness of 2.3 mm, and it is surrounded by a series of endless belts which press the articles to be ironed against its surface. Suitable for use in establishments with a substantial amount of laundry, e.g. hospitals, clinics, retirement homes or restaurants. The cylinder has a medium level of thermal inertia and changes shape in a completely homogenous way in response to temperature fluctuations.</p> |
