PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which can be effectively implemented by a digital system and confirms a sign separation line which determines the boundary of a road lane. SOLUTION: A method 10 to confirm a sign separation line of a road lane consists of a stage, where a road picture is subjected to feed-in operation (14) based on a mask matrix so as to confirm a discontinuity existing in the picture and the result is compared with a threshold (16) to display a sign separation line, and a stage where it is decided (18) that the mask matrix is set by a method which may at least partially eliminate the discontinuity which doesn't correspond to the sign separation line, and this method supports guide of a vehicle.
