PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming element having a transparent magnetic recording layer in which the wearing area of the contact face is controlled to the min. and magnetic characteristics, photographic performance, lubricating property, durability and scratching resistance are improved. SOLUTION: This image forming element consists of a supporting body, at least one image forming layer formed on one surface of the supporting body, and a transparent magnetic layer formed on the supporting body. The transparent magnetic layer contains magnetic particles, fluorinated polymer particles having 0.01 to 1.5μm particle size, and a water-dispersible binder. The weight ratio of the magnetic particles to the water-dispersible binder ranges 0.1:100 to 30:100.
