PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical switching type optical switch having high reliability. SOLUTION: The switch is constituted of moving and connecting the tip part of at least one moving side optical fiber 4 to one of plural fixed side optical fibers 2 and forming a refractive index-matching material 20 layer in a gap between respective end faces of these connected optical fibers 2, 4 as a mechanical switching type optical switch. The material 20 is supplied by applying the material 20 to the surfaces of respective optical fibers 2, 4 or the surfaces of connection members 3, 8, 9, 7 for respective optical fibers. |
