PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shield machine, in which width can be widened and which has an intermediate folding mechanism capable of corresponding even to steep curvature. SOLUTION: The shield machine has a front drum section 3 with excavating mechanisms 11, 13, 15, an intermediate drum section 5 being connected to the front drum section 3 and having an intermediate folding mechanism and a rear drum section 7 being coupled with the intermediate drum section 5 and having a tunnel constructing section, and the front drum section 3 and the rear drum section 7 are composed of a plurality of blocks 3a, 3b, 3c and 7a, 7b, 7c respectively. The block of the front drum section 3 and the block of the rear drum section 7 are isolated mutually, and constituted movably in the expanding direction of an excavating port. |
