PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely decide the moving direction of a focus lens by calculating the 1st and 2nd evaluation value groups while carrying out a wobbling action and changing the importance of evaluation value of at least 1st or 2nd evaluation value group to decide the value in several times. SOLUTION: When a just-pin state is decided and a near or far state is not decided by the decision of 1st step, the moving direction of a focus lens cannot be decided. That is, a large out-of-focus degree is decided. Thereby, the importance of evaluation value is changed to slightly heighten the sensitivity and the decision of 2nd step is started. In other words, only the evaluation value of the working data having the comparatively high cut-off frequency is used in fact to contribute to the decision of 1st step in terms of importance of the evaluation value. However, the importance of valuation value is changed with the importance given to the evaluation value of the working data having the comparatively low cut-off frequency. That is, a near state is decided after the change of importance. Then a far state is decided if no near state is decided. |
